Christmas Countdown Day 17

A long awaited (at least by Alex) Christmas Activity was a trip to the National Christmas Tree.  I don't think Alex cares too much about the actual tree, but the tree is surrounded by about 30 trains.
They love watching the trains go around, but what they really love is throwing money at them.  People from all over try to throw money into the train's box cars.  So before we even left the house, Alex made sure we had about 50 pennies. I can brag that I got about 75% of my pennies in.  Annie and Alex...not so accurate.  But they had fun and tried their best all the same.
We visited Santa's Workshop too. We looked for our names on Santa's naughty and nice list.  We found an Alex who had an X by the naughty column... the crushed look on that little boy's face convinced me to tell him that was another Alex, and we found another Alex that had two checks in the nice column.  We found Benjamin on the nice list, no surprise, and then we searched for Annie.  We even had one of Santa's helpers looking for Annie and we couldn't find her anywhere.  The Elf told Annie that she must have been really nice cause those lists were already at the North Pole for presents.  That made Annie happy.  And once again Alex and Ben sat on Santa's lap, and Annie hid her face.
