We spent the first day at the beach. Annie and Alex aren't fans of swimming in the ocean so we stuck to building sandcastles and sand Christmas trees. What's a sand Christmas tree? It's what you make when you take very watery sand and let it drip between your fingers so it stacks; eventually it resembles a Christmas tree. They did like to play in the surf a little. We also had a picnic making sure to eat on the packed sand to minimize how much sand actually got eaten. I didn't take any pictures cause the last time I took my camera to the beach, it got sand in it and broke.
The next day we played with Aunt Carley. They got pushed on the swing and we all went to the park. Aunt Carley is studying to be a teacher so she brought books and stickers to entertain the kids with. The sun is brutal here so when it got too hot we came inside and did finger painting with pudding. I drew the train.

On Sunday the Space Shuttle Discovery blasted off into orbit. Alex has been interested in space for about a month so was thrilled to see the shuttle take off. My parents live about 40 miles west of Cape Canaveral so we watched the count down on the television and then we ran outside to watch the shuttle go up. My dad really played up the experience and you would have thought the shuttle was going up in our front yard with how Alex reacted. This mission takes the final pieces up to complete the space station. I'm so glad we got to see it.

Monday we headed off to Aquatica! Alex remembers going last year and requested before we got there that Papa go on the yellow tube slide with him. The memory kids have amazes me! Annie was much better about going down the slides by herself. She didn't panic when she fell over or got a mouth full of water either. She is so funny. She seems to be pushing my to potty train right now. She asks to go potty 5 or 6 times a day and today at the park she would sit in the water only to get out and watch the water drain from her diaper. She did this a dozen times, each time fascinated with the water dripping. Maybe she thought she as actually peeing.

Alex took a nap, but the kid has no fat on him so he got cold in the shade. Papa picked him up to cuddle and he fell right back to sleep in Papa's warm arms.
Tuesday Grandma had to work so I took the kids to Downtown Disney for the morning. We got lost of pictures by the character statues , and the kids had fun playing with the Lego and Potato Head interactive displays.

The last day of our vacation we stayed home. Annie and Alex helped grandma in her garden and feed the chickens. They got completely dirty from head to toe and loved it! My parents have a huge oak tree in both the front and back yard. It's leaves don't change color in the fall and then fall to the ground. Instead the leaves kind of all shed off in March along with more pollen then should be on one tree. When you go outside to push the kids on the swing, you'd come back in the house with yellow pollen covered feet. In the right light it looked like yellow smoke hovering in the air!

And just because I'm lame, I had to put a happy face on what looks like a carrot man!
Thanks for a great week Grandma and Papa!

What a fun vacation!! I bet Grandma with two kitties really misses her Alex & Annie.
Yep, Grandma really misses the little buggers...it's entirely TOO quiet now. I must admit the cats have come out of hiding though.....
